Job Description

Meals on Wheels Central Texas is hiring a Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator. This position supports recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers. Duties include developing a yearly volunteer recruiting plan and calendar, responding to all incoming requests for new volunteer information, conducting on and off-site volunteer orientation sessions, and communicating with individuals and businesses in the community to recruit new volunteers. This position will represent Meals on Wheels Central Texas at outside events such as fairs and make presentations as needed. The Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator also coordinates volunteers for Thanks giving and Christmas special deliveries as well as scheduling summer and holiday help during peak cancellation times. This position will handle larger numbers of inquiries and a heavier workload during peak seasons. Some weekends and after hours work are required. Full-time plus benefits.

Skills / Requirements

College degree preferred

Six months working with volunteers including recruiting, training, and coordinating

Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience with computers, data collection, and data maintenance

Experience in public speaking

Ability to express ideas clearly both verbally and in written form

Ability to multi-task and handle heavier workload during peak seasons

Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required
