Job Description

Meals on Wheels Central Texas is honored to serve our older neighbors and adults living with disabilities in the Greater Austin area. Through our meal programs and other services, we help nearly 5,000 Central Texans live independently so they can age in place in their homes. To ensure that we are providing the best services and continuously improving them to support those we serve, we rely on volunteers to deliver a nutritious meal and friendly smile. Our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator plays a critical role ensuring our volunteers have an engaging volunteer experience!

What you'll do:

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will carry out an annual volunteer retention plan with a focus on volunteer recognition and other volunteer engagement activities such as sending out anniversary and birthday cards, preparing volunteer hour certification letters, greeting and thanking our dedicated volunteers at pick-up sites, planning and implementing volunteer recognition activities, facilitating regular Volunteer Engagement Committee meetings, and representing Meals on Wheels Central Texas at outside functions as needed. This position will also assist with assigning new volunteers to appropriate positions and providing them the information they need to begin their volunteer jobs and more.

Who you are:

You are a people-person who is highly organized and works well independently and on a close-functioning high-paced team. Willing to hop in your car and deliver a meal, answer a phone call or modify your day to pitch in where needed. You love meeting and talking to people with a desire to see them just as engaged as you are about Meals on Wheels Central Texas' mission and vision. You should have prior experience working with volunteers, including recruiting, training, coordinating and retention. Your communication skills are friendly, professional, and persuasive, and you have a smile for everyone. If you're bilingual English/Spanish, even better. You should have tech experience working with a computer, database/CRM, and online applications. You should have a valid Texas driver's license, automobile insurance and transportation.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment that includes in-office work and off-site work at one of our pick-up locations.
