Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Vice President for Senior Health Services plays a key leadership role in the effective operation of Client Services, including Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors (PALS) and Mike’s Place Respite Care. The Vice President for Senior Health Services serves as a role-model, coach and supportive resource to all Client Services’ staff and develops strong internal and external relationships within Meals on Wheels Central Texas (MOWCTX), partnering agencies and the community. He/she/they is directly tasked with ensuring a positive experience for staff, clients, caregivers, volunteers and donors. This position supervises four to five direct reports with oversight of 20+ staff in the Client Services department.

The Vice President for Senior Health Services will establish long range strategic and operating plans for the Client Services department consistent with MOWCTX’s strategy and mission. He/she/they will ensure maximization of department operational efficiencies, analyze community needs to project potential for growth in services, act as counsel in areas of expertise, and ensure positive outcomes and reporting of statistics.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • In collaboration with the COO, provide management level leadership for the development and oversight of Client Services’ programs and services including planning, budgeting, and program evaluation
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary diverse staff to ensure efficient and effective execution of operational activities
  • Collaborate with cross functional peers to identify and resolve operational performance issues
  • Lead implementation of and leverage enabling technologies to drive work process efficiencies
  • Enable a culture of continuous improvement by establishing and maintaining an environment where new ideas and solutions are encouraged, evaluated, quantified and implemented
  • Serve as Services’ educator and fulfill speaker requests when needed at MOWCTX public events, conferences and training workshops
  • Analyze, track, and evaluate program services in collaboration with the Nutrition, Health and Impact Department
  • Ensure effective integration of strategic directions into program work plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with related health care and social service providers
  • Recruit, train, coach and supervise program staff and volunteers
  • Develop and monitor program service methods, data analysis, budgets, and service delivery systems
  • Manage an on-going community needs assessment; design programs responding to identified needs

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience related to providing social service programs, specifically seniors, low income and/or people with disabilities including Alzheimer’s and related disorders
  • Demonstrated success in a business leadership role
  • Must have extensive experience and be skilled in the use of software programs such as Microsoft Office and CRM database such as Salesforce
  • Strong personnel management and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities and tasks appropriately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; produce executive level reports and presentations; articulate knowledge base when required to present
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated consistent sound judgment and decision making
  • Model a high level of accountability and personal integrity; able to communicate across the organization openly and with respect
  • Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends as needed in support of MOWCTX mission and department objectives
  • Possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License, vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel as needed to perform job duties
