Job Description

Meals on Wheels Central Texas is looking for part-time seasonal Customer Service Specialist to join our team. This position works October 2019 through June 2020. Hours are M-F 10:30am to 2:00pm. Additional hours may be required to cover absences and provide coverage during busier times.

Candidates must have a professional phone presence and work well as part of a team. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for courteously answering a large volume of incoming calls, greeting visitors, and providing assistance to clients, volunteers, donors, and staff. Utilizing effective listening skills, this position will evaluate each call and personally manage the call to resolution. This position plays a critical role in assisting Meals on Wheels Central Texas to meet the needs of the community on a daily basis. Other duties include inventorying and stocking office supplies, maintaining a clean and orderly reception area, and assisting with other administrative duties as needed.

Skills / Requirements

High school graduate or GED and one year of general office/clerical experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred

1 year of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems

Experience with multi-line telephone system

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Experience with Access and Salesforce databases helpful

Ability to navigate a computer while on the phone

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Professional demeanor and phone presence

Must have regular dependable attendance

Good time management
