Meals on Wheels Central Texas (MOWCTX) is looking for our next Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors (PALS) Program Manager. The PALS Program Manager is responsible for the successful operation of all aspects of the PALS program. Program services include pet food assistance, veterinary care assistance, donated grooming services and transportation assistance for pets. The Program Manager is responsible for recruiting, training and coordinating a pool of volunteers. They develop and maintain professional relationships with all community partners and work closely with the Client Services team to determine appropriate pet assistance for clients within determined scope, budget and timeframes. They also work closely with Communications and Development teams on outgoing newsletters, grant applications, donor relations, and PALS visibility in the community. This position supervises the PALS Administrative Assistant position in all assigned duties. Full-time + benefits

Skills / Requirements

College degree preferred, high school diploma plus equivalent job experience may be substituted
Animal welfare or veterinary care background strongly preferred
One year direct customer service experience including data collection, record keeping and generating reports and training materials using a computer
One year experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and management
Experience advocating for pet needs in the community and working with pet service providers strongly preferred
Familiar with animal service organizations in the Austin community
Ability to work with a diverse clientele who have ongoing social service needs
Familiarity with animal service organizations in the Austin community
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to problem solve using good judgment, remain organized, work efficiently, and run a self-directed program
Strive to maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills
Intermediate computer skills including demonstrated use of Microsoft Office applications
Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required
