We are expanding our staff, and we have immediate openings for a Development Coordinator to join our team.  The mission of Meals on Wheels Central Texas is to deliver care that empowers our neighbors by promoting dignity and independence. Meals on Wheels Central Texas is currently celebrating 51 years of delivering a nutritious meal to our homebound and elderly community in Central Austin. 

Schedule: Monday - Friday Full-time, Non-exempt

Supervisor: Director of Development                              

SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator performs administrative duties related to fundraising and public relations. This includes but is not limited to: donation entry and follow-up, acknowledgements, fundraising and donor communication strategies, special events support, and third-party online fundraising campaign implementation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Proactively responds to donor inquiries, demonstrating expertise via phone, email, and in person, ensuring clarity and donor satisfaction.
  • Upholds the integrity of our donor database through meticulous data entry, updates, and management by demonstrating proficiency in handling and interpreting information.
  • Executes donor stewardship initiatives, including the preparation and dispatch of personalized thank you letters and accompanying reports.
  • Curates' bespoke donor correspondence for honor/memorial/special events, reinforcing our brand’s personal touch.
  • Seamlessly processes online credit card transactions, guaranteeing the security and accuracy of each transaction.
  • Facilitates efficient mail processing and preserves donor/donation records in adherence to best practices.
  • Works with the Annual Giving and Prospect Research Manager to initiate online fundraising campaigns for third parties who wish to fundraise on behalf of Meals on Wheels Central Texas.
  • Engages collaboratively with the Donor Database Manager, to ensure donor information and donations are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adopts cutting-edge project management tools to ensure deadlines and timelines are met for donor and stewardship projects.
  • Represents MOWCTX at diverse events, from fundraising galas to workplace fairs, sometimes beyond regular working hours, embodying the organization’s values and ethos.
  • Ensures availability of acknowledgment and stewardship materials, foreseeing needs and acting proactively.
  • Performs strategic administrative duties as needed including but not limited to processing invoices, copying, filing, and sorting mail to enhance department efficiency.
  • Upholds the sanctity of confidentiality and ethical codes intrinsic to our organization's values.
  • Embraces additional responsibilities, portraying adaptability and commitment.
  • All employees must contribute to meal delivery, meal management, or office support based on their scheduled hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience maintaining databases or working with a CRM system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication principles and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to technology
  • Ability to perform simple accounting procedures
  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
  • Must interact professionally and pleasantly with donors, volunteers and staff
  • Must work well with others in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work for periods of time without interaction or direct supervision
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and automobile insurance
  • Good driving record and reliable transportation are required
  • Impeccable commitment to servant-leadership and an absolute unwillingness to accept mediocrity
