Bilingual Neighbor (Client) Support Coordinator

Meals on Wheels Central Texas is honored to serve our older neighbors and adults living with disabilities in the Greater Austin area. Through our meal programs and other services, we help nearly 5,000 Central Texans live independently so they can age in place in their homes. To ensure that we are providing the best services and continuously improving them to support those we serve, we rely on volunteers to deliver a nutritious meal and friendly smile.

The Neighbor Support Coordinator is responsible for engaging with Meals on Wheels Central Texas applicants and existing clients, conducting annual recertification assessments to determine eligibility for meal services.

Qualifications 

• High School diploma/GED with experience in client assessment and eligibility preferred.
• Previous social service experience or some social service college coursework preferred.
• Passion for community and strong customer service orientation. 
• Proficiency in standard software programs including Microsoft Office and client relationship management software. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication. 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and handle stressful situations. 
• Ability to work effectively and communicate comfortably with a diverse clientele who have ongoing social service needs. 
• Skilled in organizational and time management, able to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product, and able to pivot as priorities change.
• Ability to work in a high paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation for conducting home visits.

This role involves providing comprehensive support, resources, and guidance to help neighbors achieve their goals and thrive within the community, supporting them through the entire program life cycle.

This position primarily works indoors, possibly in a hybrid work environment. Occasional local travel and some outdoor work environments. Constantly works on a computer in an administrative capacity. Occasionally standing or walking to present information in a public setting. Occasionally move objects up to 30 pounds.
